Purported Contradictions in the Bible
I am going to attempt here to answer any and all supposed contradictions cited by atheists and other religions here.
However, before I begin, I'm going to issue a couple of WARNINGS and a DISCLAIMER.
WARNINGS
To the Christian
If you are a Christian who is strong in your faith and you are looking for ammunition for a defense of the gospel,
well and good. Hopefully you will find good information here to respond to the claims given against the truth of
Scripture.
If you are a Christian but your faith is not strong and cannot withstand the barrage of attacks against the bible by outside
forces, READ NO FURTHER. I would never want to be the inadvertant cause of another brother or sister in Christ
stumbling or turning away from the faith.
To the Non-Christian
If you are not a believer and you have been told that the bible is full of discrepancies and therefore cannot be
true, you will find here many of those claims, with a defense for each one. Perhaps you will find answers here that
will help you overcome that cloud of doubt. If so, read on!
If you are not a believer and never will ever be open to that option, your issue is probably not with the
truth or error in the bible but with a situation or attitude engendered in your past (browbeaten by the bible at an
early age, a loving unbeliever died and you were told they were going to hell, you prayed for deliverance from
something and no deliverance came, etc.)
If that is you, my work here won't help you at all until you deal with the hurt or rejection or anger you feel
towards the God you claim doesn't exist. (Sounds kinda contradictory, doesn't it?) Often, the contradictions
are raised to protect one from dealing with the pain of the past.
Understand, I have been there as well, my father was on his deathbed, dying of cancer and many other things. I prayed
long and hard for his healing, laying hands on him with tears. But no healing came, except the ultimate healing that
comes in death. A long and painful drawn out suffering death.
I could have turned my back on Him, but I did not. Does that make me 'better' than you? I think NOT! Perhaps just
'more fortunate.' Hopefully my gentle prayerful chiding here will be taken in a good light, and will work some good
toward healing your wounded heart so you might consider God again in a more positive light.
DISCLAIMER
I'm not licensed
No, I'm not a Doctor of Divinity, nor do I 'play one on TV.'
;-)
If anything, I'm simply someone who wants to use their talents for good work, including the good work of defending
the faith.
I don't warrant my answers
These answers to these questions/alleged contradictions are provided 'AS-IS.' Use them wisely, get what you can
out of them. If you don't like them, well, at least you 'got what you paid for.'
